Solon Community Church has been in existence since 1834. In all that time we have striven to be a voice for God in the wider community. Today we are opening our hearts to God to discern the future of our ministry. We hold differences in understanding God and interpreting Scripture create dynamic communities of faith. Our unity is not based in conformity, but a passion for diversity in thought, identity, and experience. Our goal is to be like the four gospels: different understandings of the same message.
The Fith Sunday of every month is Impact Sunday. We meet in the Social Hall of the Church and do a mission project in place of the Sermon. Projects change every month so keep an eye out on our social media feeds and church newsletter to learn more.
The United Church of Christ (UCC) is a distinct and diverse community of Christians that come together as one church to join faith and action. With more than 5,100 churches and 1.1 million members across the U.S., the UCC serves God in the co-creation of a just and sustainable world. The UCC is a church of firsts, a church of extravagant welcome, and a church where "...they may all be one." John 17:21. Please see http://www.ucc.org/about for more information about the UCC.
Pastor Brian Saxe was just called to Solon Community Church in 2020. He grew up in Stow, Oh, and has lived all over the state. He and his two young children currently lives in Cuyahoga Falls. He graduated from Bethany College with BA in Political Science and later from Xavier University with an MA in Theology. He loves pop culture and has a passion for teaching the historical context of Scripture.
Brian's outlook on Christianity is simple: God sent Jesus to make people and the communities they live in better. The rest is details.
